Yes! Pretty Cure 5 Movie: Miracle Adventure in Mirrorland

Nozomi meets herself?

Zero-Raws recently posted a raw of the TV broadcast of the Yes! Precure 5 movie on WOWOW (similar to HBO or Showtime in the U.S.).  It looks a lot nicer than the DVD raws that have been around in the past, so it was only sensible to get a copy of it out there with subtitles. :)  Zabi-Hai’xie had previously subtitled the DVD raws (under the name Zabi-Navy at the time), and we got their permission to reuse the script.  It’s been cleaned up slightly and re-timed to the TV Raw (which removed the CocoNuts stage play off the front and cut a half second out of the opening title screen, but otherwise is completely intact), but most of it is still their work.

Hope you enjoy!

Look, there are a TON of translation mistakes, especially during the battles.

00:40:46.848: “You almost made me fall” is TOTALLY wrong. She said “How about you drop dead already?”

00:40:13.757: “All you can do is flaunt your superiority” Not even close. “You say the most reckless things sometimes” (she heard Dream talking)

00:40:37.328: “I almost gave up” my ass, she said “You’ll have to excuse me”.

I don’t know who did the TL, and these were just random examples, but if you can’t even translate Pretty Cure right, please stop.

This script was published with a different raw a few months back, and I hadn’t heard any complaints about it, so I assumed it way okay. I suspect neither of us who touched it know Japanese well enough to have noticed. I know this script came through Chinese on the way to English, and the editor thinks the mistakes were introduced in the Chinese translation. I’d love to see it with correct translations; Maybe we can re-release it with corrections if we can find someone who knows Japanese to TLC it. Our one in-house translator (who’s pretty darn thorough) is relatively buried under Fresh Pretty Cure at the moment.
